FAQs
What should I wear?
We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and footwear that you don’t mind getting wet (just in case!). If the weather isn’t very warm a windproof coat would be beneficial.
What happens on the water?
Don’t worry if you’ve not been sailing before! You’ll be taken out on the water with a qualified instructor or an experienced sailor. A buoyancy aid or lifejacket will be provided. Some wetssuits and spray tops are also available to borrow.
What else should I bring?
You could bring a towel and maybe some spare clothes (particularly if you are bringing children). There are changing facilities on site with showers and family changing facilities. Sun hat and sun scream are also important.
Downs Sailing Club has its own canteen and licensed bar, so a small amount of cash may be handy.
